Celestial Bodies - 2022

"Neredeyse kaldırılamayacak kadar ağır görülen bu cisimler aslında, malzemelerinden dolayı çok hafif ve anlamlarından dolayı belki de bir o kadar ağırlar. Yıldız, biriktirilmiş gazete kâğıtlarını üst üste sararak ve tutkallayarak ürettiği bu gezegenlerde ise, Ay’ın Dünya’nın uydusu olması ve istese de oradan uzaklaşamaması fikrinden yola çıkıyor. Daimî birbirini etkileme, dönüştürme fikri ile bu eserler gözü kapalı ürettiği öteki seri ile de kesişiyor, tamamlanıyor."

"These objects, which are seen as almost too heavy to be lifted, are actually very light due to their materials and maybe just as heavy due to their meaning. In these orbits, which Yıldız produces by wrapping and gluing the collected newspapers on top of each other, the idea is that the Moon is an orbit of the Earth and cannot get away from it even if s-he wanted to. With the idea of constantly influencing and transforming each other, these works intersect and complement the other series he produced non-eye centric paintings."
